A little over an hour by road or train, north west of Sydney, you'll find the historic Windsor Township. Set on a high bank of the magnificent Haweksbury River, at the foot of the Blue Mountains, Wollemi National Park and surrounding National Parks. In 1810 Governor Lachlan Macquarie established the township of Windsor which was previously known as 'Green Hills'. Windsor, as a river port, became the lifeline of the early Sydney settlement as the colony's granary. Now, 200 years later, the pioneering spirit of our early settlers, and thousand years of Dharug Aboriginal history can be experienced throughout the Hawkesbury Valley.

Visit the Hawkesbury Museum of local history and its RAAF display, or many other places of historic significance . Fernbrook is known as one of Australia's most beautiful woodland gardens. It is situated near the top of Bellbird Hill at Kurrajong Heights, where the Blue Mountains National Park and the Wollemi National Park meet, overlooking the historic Hawkesbury Valley. The garden of approximately 12 acres, has been created by horticulturist and garden designer, Les Musgrave, who chose this particular area for its climate and enriched deep brown loam, as the aim of the garden was to establish a well balanced and varied mix of native and exotic species.
"Misty Ridge” Cuddly Animal Farm provides friendly staff , fully fenced animal enclosure with floor covering (if needed), complete with lambs, kid goats, calves, piglets, rabbits, chickens, ducks and one of our well known Border Collie sheepdogs. All our animals are hand raised from babies (most being mismothered or orphans) and so are very friendly and used to being handled. It's the ideal EDUTAINMENT for your Playgroup, Pre-school, Kindergarten, Primary School (approved by the Dept. of Education), Shopping Centre, Corporate Christmas Party or Special Event.
